This rare, fully restored example is powered by a professionally prepared by Ray Barton 383 bored and stroked to 471 CID , fortified with Edlebrock aluminum heads, aluminum intake, 650 CFM carb, intake cleaner and valve covers. The build also features Diamond pistons, Melling high volume oil pump, aluminum water pump, MSD ignition and other top of the line internal goodies. Previous owner states that the car dyno's at a healthy 504 horsepower. The transmission is a Hughes built and upgraded 727 transmission. Other mechanical highlights include: Wilwood disc brakes, 8 ¾ inch rear end, anti sway bars front and rear, new wheels and tires, new battery, Shumauker headers, stainless steel fuel lines, new tire rods and ball joints, etc. Cosmetically, the car features excellent exterior paint, retains the original bright work, the blue and white interior is excellent and features bucket seats and the original console shift, the engine compartment is detailed and beautiful, and trunk is excellent. The underside frame and floors have been restored and show wonderful. Our test drive revealed a very powerful convertible and possess excellent handling and drivability. It behaves well in all situations from stop and go traffic, country cruising to flat out on the highway. This car gets out of the hole fast and possess excellent acceleration when driving from light to light. The power convertible top works perfectly. There is less than 500 miles on the motor build, it has never been raced and always cared for as a part of a private collection.
