The Ford Mustang along with the Falcon in which the very first Mustangs received the same power plant was slotted into the compact car arena and was the designed and built under direct command of Lee Iacocca. The Mustangs styling with its longer hood and short deck lid proved to be an instant success and brought an onslaught of competition. The first generation from 1964-1973 offered three different body styles; the hard-top, convertible and later the first year was the fast back which was extremely popular and sold very well. As the Mustang gained popularity, Ford offered different engine options and packages that could be purchased. This wonderful early fast back that we are pleased to offer is a 4-speed with deluxe interior, under-dash air conditioning and Rally-Pac car. The four-barrel carburetor has been removed and a three two-barrel set-up with manifold has been added. In addition the front brakes have been converted to disc and a larger brake booster has been added for safety and driveability. A set of ceramic-coated headers have also been added. This car has had long-term ownership and has been completely gone through. The body and paint was done in 1997 that shows extremely well. The car runs and drives excellent and is ready to go.
