A high flat-topped hood was all the rage of this era and was very predominant of the 1940 model, as the grille spread out to reach the fenders. The standard Ford continued to use the grille of the 1939 model with blackout on each side of the chrome center and bolder headlight surrounds were another tell tale of the changes made from its predecessor. 1940 was the last year of the 1937 design and its smaller V8 engine, with an inline six cylinder to be put back into production the following year. The 1937-1940 generation of Fords is one of the most popular automobiles for making custom hot rods out of and that still stands true to this day. Early stock car drivers also used Fords of this era as one of the most recognized racers amongst all other models. This Ford was also the most recognizable design and style assimilated to dirt track racing. A rich history that has carried through the generations, not many vehicles have the same desire as these do after 70+ years. This 1940 Ford Sedan has all the great curves and lines of the original model with a lot of nice touches to really make this model stand out. Starting with the exterior you will see a great metallic two-tone paint which is wonderfully done to match the historical shape of itself. A few fine touches of pin-striping along the headlights and to divide the primary paint colors help aid in the uniqueness of this particular model and a great set of Boyd brushed aluminum wheels really go a long way in its overall curb appeal. The interior is a comfortable neutral look with a black and grey scheme spread throughout the leather seats and dash. An aftermarket AM/FM/CD/ USB media center allows you to enjoy your favorites as you cruise along in this smooth shifting automatic transmission. Most of the mechanics and drivetrain have seen updates with a newer Chevrolet V8 engine to power it, a new wire harness has been installed when restored, R&P power radiator added as well as power steering to assist with the comfort of driving this ride! A wonderful driver for those looking for that next summer toy or for someone who just loves the old style of the Fords from back then, ready and running well for its next owner to enjoy!
