This three owner car was purchased new and resided in Colorado for much of its automotive life until 1985 where it was put in to long term dry storage at a Texas ranch. In 2009 the car was purchased by an owner enthusiast as a remarkable original, rust free non running car with excellent structure and a lovely still original interior. At this time, an enthusiast driven, performance minded, selective style restoration was begun on this classic 1969 911. The exterior of the car was stripped and repainted in its original color factory Ossi Blue retaining all the original factory sheet metal, original floors, and much of the original interior. Renown Porsche Performance Guru, Gary Dielacher of GD Racing prepared a purpose built 3.0 liter Porsche engine to be used as the power plant. The engine is fed by Weber Carburetors with custom fabricated to proper length stacks to utilize the original air cleaners. The Webers are precisely tuned and calibrated to work with the bigger engine an increased horsepower. The heads are ported and polished and reassembled with upgraded head studs and hardware. Chain tensioners where installed at this time as well. The transmission is a 915 gearbox from a 1974. The suspension and brakes has been upgraded Carrera spec utilizing Bilstien shocks and struts and the complete suspension system has received all new bushings and hardware. The overall quality and performance of this early 911 is amazing and the car is a pure blast to pilot. The car pulls strong and hard in every gear and exhibits powerful low end torque and very fast top speeds. This coupled with a responsive and tight suspension, light weight, overall feel, and excellent braking creates a balanced and confident vintage driving experience that will put a smile on any face including the most seasoned performance drivers.
