This Jeep was harvested from the great state of California where it was sold new by John Irish AMC / Jeep, of San Rafael, CA. The Jeep was delivered in Jamaican Beige with Nutmeg bucket seats and interior trim. This Jeep is highly optioned from the factory including: 258 CID inline 6 cylinder engine, full size spare, 5 speed manual transmission, rear trans lock differential, power steering, tilt steering wheel, cold climate group, halogen fog lamps, and 20 gallon fuel tank. This Jeep also came equipped with the highly desirable Laredo package. The Laredo package was one of the top packages offered for the CJ. The Laredo package includes: Special Laredo hood lettering and stripe package, chrome plated 15 X 7 Wheels, chrome plated hub covers, additional chrome trim including grille panel and front bumper, footman loops, tinted quarter windows, special high back forward pivoting bucker seats and rear bench seat in Cara vinyl, leather-wrapped steering wheel and passenger assist bar, indoor / outdoor carpeting, special console and door trim panels, Laredo nameplate, convenience group tachometer, clock etc. Other factory highlights included Free-wheeling front hubs, fresh air heater and defrost, rugged leaf spring suspension, front stabilizer bar, part-time 4 wheel drive, 2 speed transfer case, fuel tank skid plate, steering damper, gauges – oil, ammeter, temperature and fuel, electronic ignition, and energy absorbing steering. Since original purchase, the car remained in southern California until our recent acquisition, has had two owners, and serviced by the same mechanic since 2001. Today, the vehicle remains in excellent highly original condition. The exterior paint and decals appear to be mostly if not all original and shows great, the original Laredo interior is remarkable, the engine compartment remains clean and very tidy and the original frame and underside is dry and excellent. Mechanically, this Jeep runs and drives great and shows all the signs of consistent care and maintenance. Service records document an odometer replacement at 13,700 miles, currently the odometer shows 37746 mile yielding total miles to 50446, we believe this to be accurate given its extensive service history, originality of the vehicle and overall high quality. This Jeep comes complete with factory hard top option, bikini top, upgraded aluminum radiator, upgraded tubular rear bumper, front bumper with integrated Reese hitch, auxiliary fog lights, upgrades stereo, and padded roll bar. The service records indicate routine service and maintenance with repairs done when needed over the existence of this 4X4.
