Presented to the public for only the 2nd time from its original purchase date in January of 1971, is this incredibly well preserved and cared for VW Westy. The VW camper movement has caught fire and solid, clean and well documented vehicles like this one are only going up each day. The functionality and utility of these are quite remarkable. They are not just for show, but have plenty of places to go! Pack a day trip picnic and be the coolest dude at the beach or load up all the gear and stock the fridge and take the family across the states to truly experience what these resilient campers were built to do. Vehicle was purchased new on January 9th 1971 out of Madison WI from Bruns Garage. It was sold to a couple out of Washington DC and remained in their care for a few years until being sold to another family out of Glenview IL, where it remained in ownership and was used very sparingly and receiving routine Maintaince as the original Maintaince log/book state. The bus received a fresh new paint job in 2009 where windows were removed, new seals installed and painted to the correct factory color. We believe the miles to be accurate and service stamps support the miles on the odometer. Dual carbs were added at that time to get a few extra horsepower out of the bus, but the looks and performance are quite impressive. Front seats were redone along with new carpet kit and rear cushions. The shades are in perfect shape, the cots function properly and vehicle comes with the original camper stool, add-a-room tent and full cabinets with sink and ice box. Bus has some nice upgrades that give it that personal touch and some great looks. Headlight eyebrows, chrome hubcaps, front spare tire holder, travel badges, and original VW service manual with stamps, factory sales brochure and VW shop manual. The overall quality of this VW is in such nice shape both cosmetically and mechanically. A quality bus like this is not easy to find and ones with so much history and pedigree definitely need your serious consideration.
