Product Details

Get out in the Scout! The International Scout II is one of the hottest vintage SUV 4X4's on the market. The International Company is no stranger of building things that last and can take the abuse of hard work, stressing the importance of reliability, ruggedness and performance. The concept of producing a vehicle for the American worker that rivaled their farm equipment was a very good decision by the IHC executives as the Scout was an instant success when introduces as the Scout 80 in the early 60's. The 1978 Scout II offered here is a well sorted example harvested from the great state of California. It is finished in dark green metallic over black interior and is powered by the optional 345V8, automatic transmission and International's proven 4 wheel drive system. The interior features newly re-upholstered seats bucket seats and rear bench, custom steering wheel, under-dash A/C unit, original head-liner, new dash pad, original gauges and line-X floor. Other features include Power steering, power brakes, factory a/c (currently in-op but all components seem to be there), full size interior mounted spare, aluminum wheels, newer tires etc. The truck seems to retain all its original sheet metal with one older quality repaint, the engine compartment is original and tidy, and the underside is untouched, clean and dry. The truck runs and drives great, and everything seems to be in working order, 4x4 engages proper, and it is ready for immediate on or off road use, and of course the top is completely removable for fun sun enjoyment. The body is straight with no visible rust and no signs of filler. This is a great example to acquire for full enjoyment while world demand continues to rise.
